ABOUT MANALI

One day, Varvasvata, the seventh incarnation of MANU found a tiny fish in his bathing water. The fish told him to look after it with devotion as one day it would do him a great service. The seventh Manu cared for the fish till the day it grew so huge that he released it into the sea.Before departing, the fish warned Manu of an impending deluge when the entire world would be submerged and bade him to build a sea worthy ark. When the flood came, Varvasvata and seven sages were towed to safety by MATSYA, the fish which is regarded as first avatar of Lord Vishnu. As the water subsided the seventh Manu’s ark came to the rest on a hill side and the place was named Manali (2050 m) after him.

Solang Valley

Solang Valley in Manali is located at a distance of 13 kms in a side valley at the top of the Kullu valley is a splendid valley between Solang village and Beas Kund. Solang valley offers the view of glaciers and snow capped mountains and peaks. Solang Valley has fine ski slopes. The Mountaineering Institute of Manali has installed a ski lift for training purpose. Located here is a hut and guest house of the Mountaineering and Allied sports Institute, Manali. Now a few hotels have also come up. The winter skiing festival is or ganised in Solang Valley. Skating and Paragliding are two main activities are or ganised here. Apart from this many other adventure sports are available like Zorbing, Horse riding & Snow Motor Bikes riding etc.

Note:- If possible you can to Rothang Pass. Rothang Pass at own bases..you visit Rohtang pass by own bases by electric bus run by HRTC or by local taxi union or by tour cab if NGT permit issued for the vehicle. Note:-Every Tuesday is Rohtang pass is closed for maintenance. NGT Permit only be issue before 72 hours with all vehicle document. We don’t give surety for Rohtang pass permit. As per new D.C Rules vehicle can only go to Rohtang pass between 6 am to 10 am in morning & come back from Rohtang pass between 2 pm to 6 pm due to traffic issue & land sliding issue. You can book HRTC Electric bus to Rohtang pass by own from HRTC Web sites when Govt open Rohtang pass.cab charges for rothang pass is not include in package cost.Pay directly to driver.
